Buglars dig through wall to access lawyer's secrets

Equity Trust Finance PLC's liquidation office in Carrefour Etoug-ebe, Yaounde, fell victim to a daring burglary on the night of August 15, 2023. In a calculated move, the thieves managed to breach the office by skillfully digging through the rear wall of Barrister Amungwa Tanyi Nico's office, who serves as the retainer for the liquidator. Their primary targets were the barrister's laptop and crucial files, which contained sensitive information.

The audacious break-in has caught the attention of the Gendarmerie Brigade Mvog-Betsi, who have been promptly informed and are investigating the incident. Unfortunately, due to the chaos created by the intrusion, it is currently unclear which specific items were stolen, as all the files have been left in disarray.

In response to this distressing event, the office authorities have taken swift action, enlisting the services of a skilled builder to repair the breached wall and fortify the security of the premises. "Efforts are underway to restore normalcy and ensure such breaches are prevented in the future." Barrister Amungwa said.

"We understand the concerns that arise from this incident and assure you that every possible measure is being taken to uncover the extent of the theft and mitigate any potential risks associated with the stolen information. As further details emerge and the investigation progresses, we will provide timely updates to keep you informed".?

"We deeply regret any inconvenience caused and appreciate your patience and understanding during this challenging time. Rest assured, Equity Trust Finance PLC remains committed to maintaining the utmost security and confidentiality of our clients' affairs, and we will continue to work diligently to safeguard your interests", Amungwa added.
