ABADU: Organization boosting youth growth and sustainable development in Cameroon

The Abassakom Association of Development Unions (ABADU), of Kom, Fundong subdivision of the Northwest region of Cameroon has been promoting self-reliant sustainable development in the country through assistance to students, women, youths.


The association seeks to bring together not only the youth but people from all walks of life, especially sons and daughters from Fundong, in order to enable them live happily even in hard times and showcase their talents.



While speaking via a video conferencing session, the President General of the association, US-based Dr Victor Waingeh, said they have achieved a lot in the past 18 months.


"In the area of education, we were able to support over 100 students with GCE registration, we were able to provide didactic material, books, benches and other equipment to support education in our region; in the area of sports and recreation, we were able to support the Fundong Municipality Unity Tournament, which is a way of bringing our people together to exercise, but also to live life even in turbulent times while showcasing their talents," he said.


He further stated that; "in the social and economic development area, we were able to support some women's groups, support youth workshops to educate and activate our youth to have a growth mindset”.
